This is what happens when a 2, but almost 3 year old gets hold of a red marker. Luckily, it wasn't permanent marker. Posted by Picasa

Apogaea--the Temptation Tree. Everyone had great fun checking it for things that might tempt them and trading objects for things they didn't want.  Posted by Picasa

We are in California

I know this blog has somewhat become the Phoebe Files, so here's a little meat to go with the photos of my daughter....the synopsis:

we visited Illinois and had great fun with family, zoomed to Colorado and spent a glorious month in the mountains above Denver, met amazing people at Apogaea (pictures coming soon) and then zoomed out to Nevada to go to 4th of Juplaya--the Sacramento/Bay Area folks 'regional' Burning Man event. Then we headed over to our old stomping grounds to visit friens and the other half of the family.

Whew.

The reason I haven't been posting much is I got caught up in starting my newest businesses...I made the decision to purchase a Coffee News franchise (www.coffeenewsusa.com is the head office in the US). The license is for Tucson--so that will be our new home for the next couple of years. We are loving traveling, but I really fell in love with Coffee News and thought it had great potential. Greg was ready to stop a bit I think too--alll this reading about finances that we've been doing makes you question the dropping bank account with no money flowing in. I think traveling has been the best decsion of our life, but we need to supplement the bank account!

I am really excited about getting going in Tucson. I have my web domain all set up and email working--it'll be www.tucsoncoffeenews.com and my email theresa@tucsoncoffeenews.com works already. Still trying to suss out the intricacies of putting up the website itself though.

A few months ago I also purchased a membership with Pre-Paid Legal, a monthly service that gives you access to a lawyer and all sorts of benefits like phone consultations, will preparation, contract review and more. I used it helping set up my business and loved the service--then finally looked into what it would take to sell it since I kept recommending it to people. I decided to become an associate with them as well, which has been much more rewarding that I thought. I have always been extremely leery of sales and especially direct marketing. It didn't occur to me how much motivational information you absorb from such companies that is really useful information.

Phoebe has been having a blast traveling recently. We've been able to meet all sorts of kids at the recent festivals and she loves playing with kids. It will be fun to be able to see the same kids over and over a bit in Tucson. She is talking in sentences now, which is really fun at times. One of her recent constructions was, "MaMA shirt mine no." I think she meant that the shirt was hers and she didn't want it on, but I admit it was really funny because we weren't really sure, but she was very insistent, repeating it over and over. She's made great potty-chair strides recently as well, using the potty-chair during the day most of yesterday and today.

Its 1PM already so I should head to bed. More photos and updates to come!

Phoebe is a big fan of MnM's, which she calls "M's". She especially likes the blue ones, so her Uncle Kelly picked them all out for her! Posted by Hello
